Emily Ballou

Hi! I'm Emily, an actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, and educator. Raised in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont in the small town of South Royalton, I grew up with an eclectic taste in music, enrolled in my first dance class at the age of four, and quickly discovered my love for dancing in tutus and Broadway showtunes.

I graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College in 2021 with two Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and American Studies, concentrated in Acting and Journalism. I am a proud member of the BOLD Women's Leadership Network as a Cohort 4 BOLD Scholar. I am a current recipient of a Helen Gurley Brown BOLD Fellowship, splitting my time between Northern Stage and Broadway Dance Center in New York City.

Previous training: Stella Adler Studio of Acting (Winter 2021), Broadway Dance Center's Online Training Program (Winter 2021), and Boston Conservatory at Berklee (Musical Theatre Acting Intensive, Summer 2020).

I teach youth theatre and dance classes at Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph, VT and previously interned with the Broadway Podcast Network, co-hosting the show "Young, Scrappy & Hungry." In 2018, I was a company member of the Potomac Theatre Project, making my off-Broadway debut at the Atlantic Stage 2 in New York City.

Other interests of mine include baseball, comedy, choreographing, longform journalism, baking, playing with my rescue dog London, curating charcuterie boards, and dancing around in my light up sneakers.

Finally, I believe representation matters. Underrepresented voices of color should be heard and diverse stories should be told. It is an honor to be able to share the gift of theatre, so I strive to leave every room brighter than I found it.

Feel free to reach out with any inquiries. I'm always interested in new collaborations and performance opportunities. Thanks for checking out my website!

♡ Em
